“Gods Remedy For An Anxious Heart”
Philippians 4:6-7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Phil. 4:6-7

Oh how marvelous and varied are the promises of God for the children of God.

In 1st Peter 1:3, Peter calls these promises of God as “exceedingly great & precious promises”. They are not merely great but exceedingly great, they are not merely exceedingly great they are also precious promises!

The Greek word for precious is timios and it mean costly, of great price or value. A promise from any other person may be wonderful but promises from God are valuable. They are valuable and exceedingly great for two reasons.

First, they are such because these promises stem from and flow from the love and goodness of God the Father and reflect His divine character towards all those who are His children. No promise can be greater nor more magnificent or more glorious than promises from the Almighty God!

Secondly, the promises of God are secured by his nature. God does not lie, He does not change and He always fulfills what He promises. In contrast with our best intentioned friends may promise.

One such “exceedingly great & precious promises” which God wishes for us to receive is His peace in times of difficulties. That is His promise - lets learn how to receive it by faith.
