Revelation 14:1-5 Questions:

1.       Rev 14:1: “Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.”  

a.       Explain this verse and identify the Lamb, Mount Zion, and the “one hundred and forty-four thousand.  

b.      Is Mount Zion referring to heaven or a place on the earth?  

2.       Rev 14:3: “They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.”  

a.       Where does this scene take place as described in this verse?  In heaven or on the earth?  

b.      Why do you think only the “hundred and forty-four thousand” could learn this new song?  

3.       Rev 14:4: “These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins.  These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.  These were redeemed from among men being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.”  

a.       “for they are virgins” – Do you interpret this literally, that these men have never had physical relationships w/ women?  Or do you interpret this as spiritually pure?  List reasons for your answer. 

b.      What are the “firstfruits” referring to in this verse?  

4.       In your own words, explain what is happening in Rev 14:1-5 in the context of the Tribulation and Jesus’ Return.  Include why you think the 144,000 are standing on Mount Zion with the Lamb at this point in Revelation.
